Testing new lights

One of my goals for 2012 has been to refine and be more creative with in-studio sessions.  I've been a natural light photographer for many years but I've always wanted to experiment and test different studio lighting options.  I delved more deeply into this last year, however this year I am taking it to a new level, and you'll be able to experience all the ups and downs with me as I post test shots and sneak peeks here on the blog.

One recent session was with friend and aspiring photographer Marissa.  You many recall Marissa's last session that was posted here, where you see she's a free spirit, not shy to try something new.  So with her new appearance, and my new light, I had to test her in studio again.  Here's a preview of one of my favorites images from her session.  More to come!

BEHIND THE LENS

ABOUT yasmin

I believe in real moments and chasing sunsets. In the kinds of images that remind you of the joy that can be found in the simplest of moments.

I believe in creating images that demand to be printed—framed in fine art materials and displayed as the heirlooms they're meant to become. My approach is both editorial and intimate, capturing not just faces but the emotional landscape of your life. Each portrait is thoughtfully composed to reveal your authentic story while honoring the beauty of the world around you. Your journey is extraordinary and entirely your own, and I'm here to preserve it with the artistry it deserves.
