One of the benefits of working in the photography industry is the abundance of get-togethers, events, and workshops.  Even though we each are entrepreneurs and feverishly work to promote our own businesses, there is an underlying bond of helping each other out and giving each other a push towards excellence.  This is unheard of in other industries, and I think the common bond of wanting to share stories inspires us to work together.

One such event of working together was just last night at an event put on by the Perfect Wedding Guide and local representative Karli Markovitz.  I met Karli a few months ago when we got together to talk about the local wedding industry and trends.  She was so kind as to drive to my side of town and there we sat for 2 hours chit chatting over coffee and shared stories of our mutual friend Paria.  It wasn't long before I picked up on Karli's work ethic and passion for this industry, but also her warm and kind personality.  She's taken this market by storm and is only here to lift up the industry and bring those with her that are willing to work hard too.

Last night Karli hosted an event and invited about 100 local vendors serving the wedding industry.  Fabulous restaurant Firefly (one of my personal favorites) served as the setting where a second story view of Freemont Street was unbeatable.  What a great location for a wedding and/or reception!  I took Joey with me to the event and before we knew it we were talking and mingling amongst other local vendors and making friends.  I came away with some wonderful new contacts and am sincerely looking forward to implementing some of the ideas we shared.

I'm so thankful for having met Karli and had the opportunity to spend more time with likeminded individuals.  What a lovely feeling knowing we are all working towards a common goal of providing the best options, service and experience to future brides and grooms!

BEHIND THE LENS

ABOUT yasmin

I believe in real moments and chasing sunsets. In the kinds of images that remind you of the joy that can be found in the simplest of moments.

I believe in creating images that demand to be printed—framed in fine art materials and displayed as the heirlooms they're meant to become. My approach is both editorial and intimate, capturing not just faces but the emotional landscape of your life. Each portrait is thoughtfully composed to reveal your authentic story while honoring the beauty of the world around you. Your journey is extraordinary and entirely your own, and I'm here to preserve it with the artistry it deserves.
