Elizabeth Gilbert – Nurturing Creativity

In case you missed my last blog posting, then you might not know that I'm a self-professed nerd.  I love reading, playing the piano, and curling up in bed with a book or magazine on a Friday night over a movie.  And once I get on a roll, it's hard to make me put down that all-encompasing reading material because I am so emotionally connected.  Every once in a while I get on the TED talks site and instantly I feel as if my reading addiction has just been reignited because I feverishly watch the talks in amazement.  I love the variety of speakers, the seemingly randomness of their topics, and how they bring it all full circle at the end of their speeches.  They do it so effortlessly, that I wonder if they are a different species than the rest of us commoners.

One such talk that I was recently exposed to, is that of Elizabeth Gilbert.  I didn't recognize her name or associate it with some sort of biological breakthrough.  To me she was a stranger until I learned she wrote the wildly successful book “Eat, Pray, Love.”  Once I started watching, I was sucked in, and so much so, that I wanted to share it all with you.

Please enjoy.

BEHIND THE LENS

ABOUT yasmin

I believe in real moments and chasing sunsets. In the kinds of images that remind you of the joy that can be found in the simplest of moments.

I believe in creating images that demand to be printed—framed in fine art materials and displayed as the heirlooms they're meant to become. My approach is both editorial and intimate, capturing not just faces but the emotional landscape of your life. Each portrait is thoughtfully composed to reveal your authentic story while honoring the beauty of the world around you. Your journey is extraordinary and entirely your own, and I'm here to preserve it with the artistry it deserves.
