Las Vegas Photographer Magazine Cover & Article

What a complete honor.  Today is not an April Fool’s Day joke, but a dream come true.  A personal, in depth and raw account of my foray into the photography industry.  First, let me say a big thank you to Cindy and Amy for reaching out and asking to feature one of my images on the April 2011 cover of Las Vegas Photographer Magazine and Blog.   I could not be happier to have been asked by these two lovely and kind hearted ladies.

The cover image was taken at a photo shoot in Scottsdale in February for RGK D’Zines and features Malavika Mallya as the model.  Some of the images from that photo shoot were creating quite a buzz since they were featured in Arizona Foothills Magazine blog.  But when Cindy and Amy saw the images, they knew they wanted to highlight those here in our local market.

In addition to landing the coveted cover image slot, Cindy also asked me to write an article to accompany it.  I have to say, I enjoy writing so once I have a concept or story in mind, I can type it out with ease.  However in this case, I could not get this particular topic out of my mind.  It had been embedded in there from a conversation I had with my very good friend and photography mentor Scott.  Scott had asked me what my “Why” was.  Why was I so enthralled and passionate about photography.  And as I shared my reason with him, it hit a nerve with me, and here in this article I lay it out for you all to read, My Personal Journey as a Photographer.  I do hope you enjoy it.

I’M  YASMIN

Portrait, Branding, Fitness & Studio PHOTOGRAPHER

Fueled by equal parts Earl Grey tea and passion, I spend my days capturing the kinds of images that make you stop, smile and ask time to please slow down. I believe in real moments and heartfelt conversations on the front porch. In the kinds of images that remind you of the joy that can be found in the simplest of moments together. I believe in images that are itching to be printed, placed in beautiful frames and hung on walls for years to come.
