Excited to share that I was recently interviewed by Canvas Rebel Magazine about my creative journey, resilience through the pandemic, and the mission that drives all my work.
Giving Back Through Art
In the interview, I shared the story behind my Annual Pet Portrait Fundraiser—a month-long initiative where I offer discounted studio sessions and donate 100% of fees to clients’ animal rescues of choice. This year we raised $2,200 for animal welfare organizations! Combining my passion for pet photography with philanthropy has become one of the most rewarding parts of my business.
Resilience Through Innovation
When the pandemic hit, I had to pivot quickly. I launched the Yasmin Tajik Fine Art Print Store in collaboration with partner charities, and what started as a fun dog Instagram account during lockdown evolved into Zayn the Gentleman—now a full business offering branding and UGC content creation. These challenges taught me that setbacks aren’t roadblocks; they’re opportunities to reinvent.
A Multi-Faceted Mission
My creative journey weaves together Shalimar Studios, documentary work, fine art prints, and Zayn the Gentleman—all united by a mission to use art for storytelling, community impact, and positive change. It’s about capturing memories, giving back, and spotting unexpected opportunities along the way.
