I’m honored to have been interviewed by Bold Journey Magazine, where I shared my story of resilience, building Shalimar Studios, and the values that drive my photography business.
Resilience Through Culture
In the interview, I opened up about how my identity as a first-generation Pakistani American shaped my resilience. Growing up navigating two cultures and transcending traditional expectations taught me that every obstacle is an opportunity to redefine boundaries and prove that resilience isn’t just responding to adversity—it’s a commitment to continuous growth.
Building a Purpose-Driven Business
I shared how my photography business evolved from family portraits to encompassing pets, branding, fitness, underwater photography, and content creation. But what I’m most proud of is weaving philanthropy into everything I do—from our annual Pet Portrait Fundraiser (which raised $2,200 for 14 animal rescues this year) to donating proceeds from fine art sales to international charities.
My Advice for Entrepreneurs
Three things matter most: having a solid business foundation, mastering your craft before launching, and developing a strategic marketing plan that truly understands your target audience. It’s not just about offering a service—it’s about communicating the value you bring and building authentic connections.
