What a joy.  Literally a joy to photograph expectant parents Marianne and Ty.  Marianne contacted me to photograph her maternity portraits and she was full of ideas.  I love it when clients come into a session with specific poses or ideas, because that means they have studied the emotion behind a particular image.  The pose itself is not the defining factor of the image, it is what the pose conveys.  The emotion, the connection, the love.  And that is exactly what we were able to do together.  Marianne is a graphic designer, so she has the perfect eye to pick out images, composition and themes in order to present a particular final product.  And Ty is the owner of Makin it Reign, custom motorcycles and apparel.  Needless to say, these two are great at paying attention to detail.

There is no question Marianne and Ty have a deep seeded connection, but to be able to share those images with you, is well, a joy!  We spent about an hour together photographing their session in-studio, and with several outfit and wardrobe changes, we managed to capture some beautiful moments, all by paying attention to the details.  Stay tuned to the blog for the arrival of Baby Darien and their newborn session too!

BEHIND THE LENS

ABOUT yasmin

I believe in real moments and chasing sunsets. In the kinds of images that remind you of the joy that can be found in the simplest of moments.

I believe in creating images that demand to be printed—framed in fine art materials and displayed as the heirlooms they're meant to become. My approach is both editorial and intimate, capturing not just faces but the emotional landscape of your life. Each portrait is thoughtfully composed to reveal your authentic story while honoring the beauty of the world around you. Your journey is extraordinary and entirely your own, and I'm here to preserve it with the artistry it deserves.
