Photoshop World 2011

Photoshop World 2011.  Wow, what can I say?  It's absolutely buzzing with excitement, lectures, photoshoots, networking, meeting new contacts and hanging out with old friends.  This was my first experience surrounding PSW and I have to ask myself, why haven't I attended before?  My exposure this year was brought in conjunction with the local SmugMug group that Scott Bourne and I head up here in Las Vegas.  And how could we put on a meetup without harnessing some of the PSW biggies to come speak for us?  So that is exactly what we did.

We were so fortunate to have Photoshop Guru, Rich Harrington take some time from his extremely busy schedule, and come and speak to the local SmugMug group on speed in retouching.  This is like learning basketball from Michael Jordan.  We had a captivated room of about 100 attendees, and we were each enthralled with the tips and tricks Rich shared with us.  If any of us missed a morsel of information, then we always know we can head over to his website 3exposure.com and brush up by viewing the many tutorials.

We even had fabulous door prizes for the attendees.  Rich gave away a free copy of one of his book, BayPhoto gave away print and gallery wrap certificates, and Scott gave away a camera!

After the presentation by Rich, all those that attended were given a free Expo Pass to walk and visit all the vendors in attendance at Photoshop World.  It was a great opportunity to look at new offerings by vendors, chit chat with current vendors, and try out new equipment.  As a matter of fact, pro lighting company Wescott, had a booth set up with a live model shoot, and here are a few images from that shoot.

I’M  YASMIN

Portrait, Branding, Fitness & Studio PHOTOGRAPHER

Fueled by equal parts Earl Grey tea and passion, I spend my days capturing the kinds of images that make you stop, smile and ask time to please slow down. I believe in real moments and heartfelt conversations on the front porch. In the kinds of images that remind you of the joy that can be found in the simplest of moments together. I believe in images that are itching to be printed, placed in beautiful frames and hung on walls for years to come.
